St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School (SEAS) is a private Catholic School. While we advocate for and cherish all children, we are limited in size and what we are able to do for all children. For this reason, we categorize students for admissions in the following order:
1. students presently attending St. Elizabeth Ann Seton;
2. siblings of students who have attended SEAS for at least 4 months of the prior of current school year;
3. students from families registered in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish;
4. students from families registered in other Catholic Parishes; and finally,
5. all other students.
Kindergarten students must be 5 years of age on or before September 1 of the school year being applied for and must be assessed by the kindergarten teacher.
1st Grade students must be 6 years of age on or before September 1st of the school year being applied for and must be assessed by the first grade teacher.
if there are more applicants than can be accommodated, the prioritized enrollment policy (above) will be followed.
applicants registering after the Kindergarten registration period will be placed on a waiting list.
the parent can choose to keep the application active for openings during the year and/or carried over to the following school year.
Kindergarten students will be evaluated by the teacher for readiness skills—both physical and academic prior to enrollment
Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton School has only one class at each grade level from Kindergarten through Grade 6. Kindergarten tops out at 24, and the other grades are limited to 25 students per class. The school is usually filled but there are often families that move away during the school year, which opens up some room for new students. A waiting list is maintained which is used to fill vacancies. A deposit of $150 is required to place a child on the waiting list.
new students will be on probation for a 30-day period
a conference will be scheduled between the parents, student, teacher and administration to determine if both the student and the school benefit from the student’s placement at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School.
prior to admission of a transferring student, all requested records of the student must be received and reviewed the SEAS school staff .
a recommendation from the family’s pastor or other reference may be requested
an interview between the parents, the principal and teacher will be scheduled prior to admission.
an interview and assessment between a teacher and student will also take place prior to admission.
the principal may allow a student to attend classes pre-interview/assessment if meetings cannot be scheduled in a timely manner and everything points to successful enrollment (example: students records have been forwarded from another state or county and recommendations are in place but child and/or parent are in route to Anchorage)
